In January 2018, steel export in Turkey increased by 12.4 percent and stood at 1.55 million tons compared to January 2017, the Turkish Steel Producers Association said in a message March 2.
According to the message, in January 2018, Turkey's profit from steel export increased by 34.9 percent and amounted to $1.28 billion compared to January 2017.
In January 2018, Turkey also imported 1.39 million tons of steel, which is 3.3 percent less compared to January 2017.
"Turkey imported steel worth $1.15 billion in January 2018, which is 28.5 percent more compared to January 2017," the message said.
In 2017, 37.5 million tons of steel were produced in Turkey, which is 13.2 percent more compared to 2016.
