Kazakhstan increases production of flour, grain

Flour production in Kazakhstan in January-February 2018 increased by 9.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, the statistics committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan said in a message.

According to the committee's data, flour production in the mentioned period reached 728,100 tons.

With an average yield of 14.4 c/ha, Kazakhstan produced 22 million tons of grain in 2017.

The largest volume of grain in the season-2017 was produced by the North-Kazakhstan region - 5.6 million tons. The second largest grain producing region of the country is Kostanay with a result of 5.2 million tons. The Akmola region closes the top three with 5.1 million tons of grain production in 2017.

Rice production, in the mentioned period, amounted to 32,700 tons (increased by 9.2 percent year over year) and other cereals - 12.600 tons (increased by 9.6 percent year over year).
