Kazakhstan increases pharmaceuticals production volume

The volume of production in the pharmaceutical industry of Kazakhstan increased by 39.7 percent, which was due to growth in the volume of released products at the national enterprises, Trend reports referring to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.

According to the ministry, among such enterprises Khimfarm JSC which raised volume of its pharmaceutical products by 67 percent should be emphasized. During the last 2 years, the company increased the export volume by 2.5 times. Medicines produced by it are currently in wide demand in the markets of Central Asia and the Eurasian Economic Union countries. The products are exported to such countries as Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia and Russia.

The company plans to double its exports next year by entering the Uzbek market. Besides, one of the most important challenges is entering the pharmaceuticals market of the European Union. Thus, by 2023, it’s planned to increase the volume of exports to 16 billion tenge ($40 million).

The pharmaceutical company ‘Dolce Pharm’ also achieved high performance. Since the beginning of this year, it increased the volume of manufactured products by 22 percent. Currently, the company produces more than 250 items of medical purpose, including medical masks and gloves, shoe covers, sterile operating kits and disposable sheets.

Moreover, the company plans to build a plant for the production of non-woven fabrics, and to organize the production of adhesive plasters. The implementation of the project for the production of non-woven fabric will provide domestic enterprises with their own raw materials for the production of personal protective equipment.

Following the results of 10 months, Abdi Ibrahim Global Pharm LLC increased the volume of its products by 7 percent. At present, the main goals of the company are the further development of the pharmaceutical industry in Kazakhstan, and obtaining a leading position in the export of medicines among the CIS countries, through the formation of sales and comprehensive marketing of innovative products.

Meanwhile, growth was ensured with an increase in the supply of medicines within the Guaranteed volume of free medical care through the Single distributor company SK-Pharmacy, as well as with a growth in retail sales due to high demand among the population for medicines and medical products from the coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, 96 pharmaceutical enterprises operate in the country, 33 of which produce medicines, 41- medical devices and 22 - medical equipment. More than 5,000 people ensure the stable operation of the pharmaceutical industry.
