The export volume from Azerbaijan to Spain reached $335.8 million from January through April 2021, which is 3.5 times more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports on June 11 with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
Thus, the share of Spain in total Azerbaijani export volume increased from 1.52 percent to 5.28 percent.
At the same time, the import of Spanish products to Azerbaijan slightly decreased for the year from $21.9 million to $21.8 million (by 0.6 percent).
The share of Spain in total Azerbaijani import volume for the reporting period amounted to 0.62 percent compared to 0.65 percent in the same period of last year.
The volume of foreign trade operations between the two countries amounted to $357.5 million during the reporting period, increasing by three times compared to the period from January through April 2020.
The balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Spain remained positive over the reporting period, amounting to $314 million.
In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover reached almost $9.9 billion as of early May 2021. Some $6.4 billion (64.33 percent) of that volume accounted for export while $3.5 billion (35.67 percent) - import.
