Iran's exports to Russia increased by 50 percent in terms of value during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi told Trend.
The spokesman stressed that Iran exported 368,000 tons of goods worth $186 million to Russia in the 4 months.
He added that Iran imported 754,000 tons of goods from Russia worth $429 million over the reporting period.
"In total, the trade turnover between Iran and Russia for the four months amounted to 1.12 million tons worth about $616 million," Latifi said.
The official noted that Russia ranks first in Iran's trade turnover with the Caspian littoral states. Iran mainly imports wheat, barley, corn, wood, oil, lentils and so on from Russia.
According to Latifi, Iran's trade turnover with the Caspian littoral states amounted to 2.18 million tons worth about $948 million within the first four months of the current Iranian year. Thus, Iran exported 1.3 million tons of goods worth $465 million to the Caspian littoral states, while imported 874,000 tons of goods worth $482 million.
