Iran boosts exports to Oman

Iran's exports to Oman increased by 49 percent in terms of value and 31 percent in terms of volume during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Iran's trade attaché in Oman Mehrdad Fallah said, Trend reports citing Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Fallah noted that Iran exported 665,000 tons of goods worth about $177 million to Oman within the mentioned period.

The attaché added that Oman was the 11th largest importer of Iranian products.

According to him, Iran exported 15 types of goods to Oman, including bitumen, iron and steel ingots, urea, unfinished iron and steel products, watermelon, tomatoes, cement and etc.

“While in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22), Iran exported 150,000 tons of goods worth $52 million to Oman. This is an increase of 92 percent in terms of value and 14 percent in terms of volume, compared to the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21),” he said.

Fallah emphasized that the share of the Omani market in Iran's total exports is 1.2 percent. With the reduction of restrictions and barriers created by the coronavirus pandemic, trade between the two countries will grow rapidly.
