Iran's trade turnover with EAEU soar

Iran's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries increased by 93 percent in terms of value during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of the International Cooperation Department of the Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Hossein Kakhaki said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

The director general said that the value of trade turnover between Iran and the EAEU member countries amounted to $1.6 billion over the reporting period.

According to him, Iran exported $358 million worth of goods to EAEU member countries in four months, which is 46 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.

Kakhaki noted that Iran exported $189 million worth of goods to Russia, $53 million worth to Kazakhstan, $24 million worth to Kyrgyzstan, $6.47 million worth to Belarus and $83 million worth to other member countries.

“Within the four months, Iran imported $1.25 billion worth of goods from EAEU member countries. So, Iran imported $1.06 billion worth of goods from Russia, $179 million worth from Kazakhstan, $8.29 million worth from Belarus, $216,000 worth from Kyrgyzstan and $2.23 million worth from other member countries,” he added.
