Kazakhstan boosts revenues from transporting cargo by air

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 13.1 billion tenge ($30.8 million) from January through September 2021, which is 52.7 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in September 2021 amounted to 941.7 million tenge ($2.2 million), which is 21.4 percent less than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 25,040 tons, which is 61.8 percent more compared to the same period of last year (2,520 tons in September 2021, increase by 2.3 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 55.6 million ton-kilometers which is 42.1 percent more than during the same period of last year (5.4 million in September 2021, an increase of 11.8 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 252.5 billion tenge ($594.3 million) from January through September 2021, which is 81.7 percent more than during the same period of last year. September revenue from passenger transportation was 34.8 billion tenge ($81.9 million), which is 2.07 times more than in September 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 6.8 million people, which is 81.5 percent more than during the same period of last year (826,380 passengers in September 2021, up by 35.8 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 10.8 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 84.7 percent. The September passenger turnover was 1.3 billion (44.7 percent more year-on-year).
