Iran is seeking to increase its export to Brazil, said Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Iran-Brazil Joint Chamber of Commerce, Trend reports citing ILNA.
Iran's current export to Brazil is less than $100 million while it imports 60 percent of its essential goods from Brazil worth $5 billion, Fakhrodin Amerian noted.
"I asked the parliament to approve preferential tariff with Brazil to reduce customs tariff for more appropriate business balance," he explained.
Iran can export petrochemical goods, diesel, pistachio, raisin, and dates to Brazil chairman added.
"Iran can support overseas cultivation in Brazil with the aid of the private sector and guarantee the purchase of products from farmers," Amerian said.
Iran to hold a meeting with the Brazilian vice president in the coming weeks to discuss trade ties.
