BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 13. Iran’s non-oil exports through the Sarakhs railway in the Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran) increased by 14 percent, during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2023), compared to the same period in the last year, Director General of Iran’s Khorasan Railway Department Mostafa Nasseri Varg said, Trend reports.
Nasseri Varg noted that a total of 330,000 tons of non-oil products were exported through the Sarakhs railway in 4 months.
The director general added that the exported goods were mainly construction materials and cement. Of the total volume, 38 percent was exported to Turkmenistan, 28 percent to Tajikistan and 25 percent to Uzbekistan.
“Within 4 months, 4,300 freight wagons were allocated by Iran's private sector for non-oil exports and cargo transit, which is an increase of 13 percent compared to the same period in the last year,” he said.
Overall, Iran exported about 45.8 million tons of non-oil products worth $15.9 billion within the first 4 months of the current Iranian year.
This is a decrease of 7.97 percent in value and an increase of 28.6 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
