Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend U.Ismayilov / Fizuli Alakbarov, the Azerbaijani Minister for Labor and Social Security, will hold an extreme meeting on 29 August at 2.30pm with employees of the labor inspection of the Ministry, the Labor Inspection announced.
The gathering will focus on work to be done after the investigation of the collapse of a 16-storey building in Baku.
A 16-storey building being constructed at 25, Mammad Nakhchivani Street in Baku collapsed on 28 August. Asgar Aliyev, the head of the company Mutafakkir, which carried out the construction, was arrested for contravening Article 222 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (violation of the safety regulations during construction and site work).
Latest reports from the scene of the incident, suggest seven people have died.
During inspections carried out in Baku from January to June the Labor Inspection revealed 470 violations of technical safety rules during construction and 418 of them were resolved.
Thirteen people have died as a result of tragic incidents during construction work in Baku from January to June 2007.
