Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. U.Ismaylova / The Azerbaijan Parliament is planning to toughen legal regulations regarding construction companies in Azerbaijan, MP Vahid Ahmadov, the member of the commission on economic policy, said on 30 August.

"Toughening legal regulations regarding construction companies in Azerbaijan will be among the issues submitted to the Parliament for consideration. The fact that this incident just happened on 28 August in one of the most central streets of Baku City gave much incentive and impetus in the passing of this bill," the MP said.

A building which was under construction by Mutaffakir company collapsed on 28 August at 17:00 hours. The head of the company, Askar Aliyev, was arrested in accordance with Article 222 (violation of safety rules in construction work) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The death toll has reached twelve.

The reason for the bill's delay was due to difficult details in construction work.
