Europe Energy Security Conference to Take Place in Vilnius

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / 'Conference on Energy Security 2007 - Energetic Security: Supply, Demand, Diversity' will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania on 10 October.

Gediminas Kirkilas, Lithuanian Prime Minister, will be attending the conference.

The conference will discuss Europe's energy security issues with a focus on the private sector (oil and gas, electric energy). Matthew Bryza, the US Deputy Secretary of State Assistant on European Affairs will deliver a report on 'Eurasia's Energy Security: Geopolitics and Diversified Gas Supply Sources; Jean-Arnold Vinois, the head of the Department on Energy Policy and Security of Supplies at the General Directorate of the European Commission on Energy and Transport, - 'Improvement of Europe's Energy Security: Future Actions, Viktor Elbling, the deputy head of the Group on Special Energy Tasks and the head of the International Economic Policy Department at the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, - 'EU's Energy Cooperation with Neighbouring Regions, Bruce Jackson, the chairman of the project on democracies of transitional period, a member of the US Council on the Foreign Affairs - 'Connection between Energy Security and Development of Democracy, its Spread over East Europe', etc.
