Kazakhstan, Astana /corr. Trend K.Konirova / The future of the Trans-Caspian pipeline will depend on the economy, said the US Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Jon Ordvey, replying to the question of Trend Special Correspondent that how will construction of Caspian Pipeline affect the realization of Trans-Caspian pipeline project?.
"The Trans-Caspian pipeline depends on the two elements of the economy: demand and proposal. We know that the energy resources are in demand in Western Europe and there are proposals in the Caspian region. Thus, connecting these two sides is a commercial issue," the US diplomat said.
As regards to the competition between Caspian and Trans-Caspian pipeline, the Ambassador said that existence of several routes is only beneficial for the seller of the energy resources.
"We support diversity in the variants of ensuring transportation of the hydrocarbons to the world market. I think that due to development of the situation, we will be able to observe how the many variants of supplying energy resources to the world market will be in the future," the Ambassador said. It is necessary to consider Trans-Caspian pipeline project in order to determine its economic profitability, Ordvey said.
