LUKoil leases Azerbaijani vessels for Caspian operations

Russian oil company LUKoil will lease two vessels of the Caspian Oil Fleet of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), SOCAR said.

STB-1 transportation barge with the help of Neftegaz 58 towing vessel left the Baku deepwater jackets plant named after Heydar Aliyev and headed to Astrakhan to install new platform in the north of the Caspian.

At present LUKoil is developing new fields in the north of the Caspian.

In the near future it is also planned to dispatch to the area Azerbaijan crane vessel, equipped with modern piling devices. The vessel will be transported to the north Caspian by Andoga towing vessel. The vessel will do piling and cementing to fix the platform to the seabed. The term of the contract is 40 days.
