Iran, Turkey sign agreement on new pipeline construction

Iran and Turkey signed an agreement to build a new pipeline to transport Iranian gas this week, the Shana news agency reported.

The agreement was signed between Iranian National Gas Company Director Javad Oudzhi and head of the Turkish company ASB Sidgi Ayan.

The cost of the 660-kilometer pipeline will be roughly 1 billion euro.

An agreement was signed during Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mir-Kazemi's visit to Turkey.

During the visit, they discussed expanding cooperation in the oil and gas sector, and potential joint investments in Iranian oil and gas fields and Iranian power-engineering infrastructure.
