Iran to implement power projects in Iraq

Iran is ready to increase electricity export to Iraq and will implement four new projects in Iraq's power sector, Mehr News Agency reported quoting Deputy Energy Minister Mohammad Behzad as saying.

"We were successful in development of Sadr power plant, while two countries are negotiating on installing Karkhe - Alemareh power line," he said.

He noted Iran could increase electricity export under a contract with Iraq.

After removal of subsides the power consumption rate in the country reduced, creating good opportunity for export.

Iran is exporting electricity to Armenia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iraq and Afghanistan
