The Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture has announced the cost of fuel and lubricants for the upcoming sowing season, the Kazakh Vice-Minister of Agriculture Muslim Umiryaev said at a conference for the preparation of spring field work in 2013.

"The Ministry of Agriculture expects the diesel fuel price for the work to reach 81 tenge per litre for agricultural producers this year, or 86.400 tenge per ton for fuels and lubricants from refineries which is the same as the price of diesel fuel last autumn," Umiryaev said.

He said the ministry together with the regional administrations defined the volume of agricultural producers' need in diesel fuel for sowing at 360,000 tons which is much the same as last year. The volume and draft of the timetable for assigning areas to refineries was approved by the Ministry of Oil and Gas.

"I call upon regional administrations particularly in the southern regions, to define as early as possible which operators are on shipment and agricultural diesel fuel provision to agricultural producers," he said.

The final volume of the need for fuels and lubricants and the reduced price of fuel for spring field work this year will be decided at the next meeting of the state commission on economic modernisation, the vice-minister said.
