SOCAR reveals its foreign investments’ value

As of Jan. 1, 2018, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR invested almost $5.74 billion in projects abroad, the company told Trend June 4.

The biggest share of the company’s investments ($3.7 billion) accounted for Turkey.

“Some $1.096 billion were invested in projects in Georgia, $580.6 million in Switzerland and $286 million in Ukraine,” the company said. “This is while $76.6 million were invested in projects in Romania.”

SOCAR includes such production unions as Azneft (enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerikimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributor of gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
