Baku, Azerbaijan, July 24
By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:
As many as 2,000 jobs will be kept at Antipinsky Oil Refinery, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR told Trend.
“Antipinsky Oil Refinery, a large industrial oil refinery in Tyumen region, West Siberia, Russia, successfully resumed its production cycle without fail on July 18 in the morning. The ceremony was attended by a delegation of SOCAR Energoresource representatives led by General Director Farid Jafarov,” said the company.
SOCAR said that the refinery possesses production capacity to refine 7.2 million tons of oil per year and has connections to the main oil pipeline and petroleum products’ pipeline.
“After three months of unplanned suspension of the technological processing and forced downtime, the plant will continue its operation as the refiner of oil received from SOCAR Energoresource, the joint venture of Sberbank and private investors. Such an attitude will allow to maintain the operability of the new high-tech production and to keep 2,000 jobs, as well as to ensure stable tax receipts to the federal and regional budgets,” said the state oil company.
SOCAR said that Antipinsky Oil Refinery is not engaged in oil production and doesn’t have own resources for commercial oil sales.
“As the supplier, SOCAR Energoresource is the owner of oil products produced at Antipinsky Oil Refinery and organizes their sale both in the domestic and foreign markets,” said SOCAR.
