Iran is increasing liquid fuel supply to power plants during the second half of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), said the Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIORDC), Trend reports citing ILNA.
The NIORDC has delivered 12 percent more liquid fuel than the regular amount to power plants in the current Iranian year compared to the last Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), Keramat Veys-Karami noted.
Regarding cold temperature in recent days, there have been emergency committee meetings to continue the fuel supply on specific days.
The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company is planning to deliver Mazut to industries in case of gas shortage.
Mazut has only been burning in one thermal power plant in Tehran as the second fuel option during the past seven years that was equal to 10 percent of power plant's consumption, the official has stressed.
