BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. Petkim petrochemical complex of SOCAR Türkiye has reported a net profit of 5.8 billion liras ($312.5 million) in the first nine months of 2022, an increase of 48 percent compared to the same period of 2021, Trend reports November 14 with reference to Turkish media.
The company ensured profitability thanks to the perfect timing of the planned maintenance, which was carried out during the period when profit margins were falling.
Net sales stood at 40 billion liras ($2.16 billion) from January through September 2022, as compared to 19.2 billion liras ($1.03 billion) in the same period of last year.
Petkim is the first and the sole integrated petrochemical facility in Turkey. It is the largest exporter in the Aegean region. Petkim’s production capacity is 3.6 million tons per year. The petrochemical complex produces around 60 different types of products and exports to 78 countries. The complex meets about 20 percent of Turkey’s demand for petrochemical products.
