On May 15, Irans representatives are arriving in Baku to discuss the further swap gas supplies to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, officials of Azerigaz JSC told Trend . The visit was scheduled to May 10 but delayed upon Irans request. Through the meeting it is planned to talk of gas supplied to Iran, Nakhchivan and passed to IRI as transit fee (15% from total volume of gas).
Azerigaz temporarily suspended supplying gas to Iran due to current operations on NAR gas supply system upgrade.
Azerigaz is starting the second phase of NARs gasification yet in 2006, which requires 145bn AZM. First phase of the project was evaluated in 360bn AZM. Some part of this amount was issued from the state budget (40%). The rest was provided by Azerigaz itself.
Under the Phase I of the project it is planned to provide gas supply for 25k consumers. Volume of supplies will be raised to 250mln m3 during 2006. In 2007, the company plans supplying some 350mln m3. The gas is pumped through Astara to Iran, which, in turn, pumps the same volume to NAR with its Р"аз 65,959 consumers.
