The value of sold products by Iranian startup companies stood at 400 trillion rials (about $9.52 billion) in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020), said Anoushiravan Mohseni Bandpei, governor of Tehran province, Trend reports citing the governor office’s website.
According to Mohseni Bandpei, this figure is expected to reach at least 600 trillion rials (about $14.2 billion) this year (starting March 20, 2020).
Mohseni Bandpei added that more than 56 percent of Iranian startup companies are located in Tehran province.
The governor said that last year, the number of startup companies in Iran reached 4,900 and 2,600 of them operate in Tehran province.
"Startup companies in Iran have created jobs for 176,000 people. About 100,000 of them (about 60 percent) account for Tehran province,” he said.
