The volume of loans issued to the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan in the first eight months of 2021 grew, Trend reports on Sept.28 via the Central Bank of the country (CBA).
According to the CBA, this figure reached 570.4 million manat ($335.5 million), which is 12.7 million manat ($7.4 million), or 2.3 percent more than from January through August 2020 (557.7 million manat or $328 million).
Short-term loans in the specified sector, with the exception of amounts issued by non-bank credit organizations and excluding non-performing loans, amounted to 32.6 million manat ($19.1 million), of which 23.9 million manat ($14 million) were issued in national currency, and 8.7 million manat ($5.1 million) – in foreign currency.
Long-term loans accounted for 510 million manat ($300 million). Of these, 372.7 million manat ($219.2 million) were issued in the national currency, and 137.3 million manat ($80.7 million) – in foreign currency.
The share of lending to this sector in lending to the real sector amounted to 3.7 percent, which is less by 0.1 percentage points compared to the same period in 2020.
