Aztelekom production association at the Azerbaijan Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is working to apply NGN (Next Generation Networks) in the automatic telephone exchanges 54 and 55 in Ganja.
The NGN project is being realized in Ganja based on Huawei Technologies solutions. Optic lines are being laid at the moment.
The capacity of the automatic telephone exchanges will increase up to 37,000 numbers as soon as NGN is applied. Nearly 20,000 of the numbers will be held by automatic telephone exchanges 54 and 55 and 17,000 by others.
Realization of NGN projects gradually contributes to convergent infrastructure.
Applying NGN became possible as a result of overhaul of current telecommunication networks. NGN will enable to offer IP telephony, wide-band internet and IP-TV to subscribers. The range of NGN services will expand in future.
