By Sadraddin Agjayev – Trend:

Ateshgah Insurance Company introduces new digital insurance products along with the opportunity to draw up insurance certificates online on its website, Janana Aghayeva, head of business development department at the company told Trend.

According to her, the company has already made big progress in introducing new digital products since early 2020. In accordance with the innovations made, the customers are given the opportunity to draw up an insurance contract directly on the website, without leaving home. Insurance premium payments can also be made online.

Aghayeva noted that the company launched online sales of insurance policies a few years ago.

"Despite the fact that our customers still prefer live communication, every year the volume of online sales is growing, and this has become particularly relevant recently, during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said. “Over the past two months, despite the general decline in the market, the number of concluded insurance contracts online on the company's website has grown by 10 percent. This means that customers are ready to enter into digital contracts.”

“Regarding the regulation of losses, we have transferred 90 percent the service to online working mode. As part of car insurance, only emergency commissioners go directly to the place of a traffic accident,” Aghayeva said. “The rest of the registration process is carried out online: the customer is given the opportunity to upload the necessary files to his personal account, send them by e-mail, or through the Business WhatsApp to the responsible officer on loss regulation.”

“We provided those persons, who still don’t have the opportunity to do this online (although practice shows that 98 percent of the customers choose this method), the opportunity to transfer documents (which, in turn, is done remotely) to the office for settlement of losses for consideration," noted the company's representative.

The head of department also noted that regarding voluntary medical insurance, telemedicine services have been provided for the third month under ‘Salam, Doctor!’ project together with Sphera Healthcare AZ company.

“A customer, without leaving home, has the opportunity to use the audio or video call to contact a therapist, pediatrician or even a psychologist for professional medical advice,” she added.

Ateshgah Insurance Company, being a part of Ateshgah Insurance Group, has been operating in the Azerbaijani market since 1996, and has licenses for implementing 27 types of voluntary and 4 types of mandatory insurance activities.

In 2019, the company collected insurance premiums worth over 36 million manat ($21.7 million) and paid insurance indemnities worth 18.9 million manat ($11.7 million), ranking fifth among the insurance companies in Azerbaijan.

Today, 22 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operate in Azerbaijan.
