Turkmenistan, Iran consider issues of digitalization of transportation system by vehicles

Turkmenistan and Iran considered the issues of digitalization of the transportation system by vehicles by expanding the number of participants of the e-TIR project, Trend reports with reference to the Golden Age e- newspaper.

These issues were discussed at a meeting between the deputy chairman of the Turkmen State Customs Service and representatives of the Iranian Customs Administration.

The sides exchanged views on the creation of a single customs post for joint customs control.

In this regard, the issue of the possibility of introducing the e-TIR system was considered.

The prospects for the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran in the customs sphere, in particular, such issues as preliminary data exchange between customs services, exchange of a list of prohibited goods, rapid transportation of perishable goods were also discussed at the meeting.

The international e-TIR system (exchange of data between customs structures) will ensure the secure exchange of data between national customs structures on international transit of goods, vehicles and containers in accordance with the TIR Convention.
