BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 23. As many as 43 facilities will be put into use in Iranian ports within the government week (August 24 through August 30, 2022), in the country, Iranian Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Head of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), Ali Akbar Safaei said, Trend reports citing PMO’s website.

Safaei noted that a total of 1.62 trillion rials (about $38.6 million) has been spent on the mentioned facilities both by the public and the private sector.

The deputy minister added that the facilities to be launched in the north and south ports of the country will result in an increase in cargo shipment, provision of additional services and the creation of new jobs.

“In addition, Iran will begin construction work under 13 projects at the cost of more than 3.5 trillion rials (about $83.3 million) in its Imam Khomeini, Shahid Rajaee, Bushehr, Amirabad, Sirik, Jask and Dayyer ports within the government week,” the official said.
