An agreement on joint activities between the South Korean MIRECO company and Kyrgyzaltyn JSC will be signed this week, president of South Korea's state-owned MIRECO company Hyuck-In Kwon said during a meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov on Wednesday, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government said, KyrTAG reported.
According to Kwon, it is planned to sign an agreement on joint activities between his company and Kyrgyzaltyn for promoting earlier agreements. MIRECO President stressed that his company specializes not only in mining, but is also simultaneously working to protect the environment, conserve ecology, control and prevent the harmful effects of field development, restore damaged areas.
The MIRECO president informed the head of the government that MIRECO has been for a long time working with the ministries and departments of Kyrgyzstan in providing consulting and technical assistance in reclaiming mining sites, on the implementation of technologies for environmental safety, assists in professional development. All this work is carried out on a grant basis.
"We are interested in active cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all directions within the scope of our company," he said.
Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov drew attention to the fact that the company can take part in the contest and auction to develop deposits of Kyrgyzstan.
"We welcome the interest of Korean companies to cooperate. Your company could become a driving force to attract Korean capital into the economy of our country," Babanov said.
