Tajikistan’s trade turnover with the CIS countries increased by 17.8 percent for the eight months of this year compared to the same period in 2017, the TajikTA news agency reported.
For the eight months of this year, Tajikistan’s trade with the CIS countries totaled to over $1.5 billion, according to the Agency on statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Russia ranked first among Tajikistan’s trade partners with a total turnover of $651.9 million. Russia is followed by Kazakhstan with a total turnover of $553.3 million.
Tajikistan is actively developing trade with Uzbekistan. Compared with last year, the growth rates of the trade turnover between the two countries increased 2.3 times. Its value for the eight months of 2018 stood at over $192.6 million.
More than $11.8 million of this amount accounted for imported goods. Exports to Uzbekistan for the same period amounted to over $80.8 million.
Tajikistan’s trade with Kyrgyzstan increased 2.1 times, with Azerbaijan - 2.2 times. Tajikistan’s trade turnover with these countries amounted to $43 million and $4.4 million, respectively.
