Four little Kyrgyzstanis with congenital heart disease will undergo surgery for free in South Korea, kabar.kg reports referring to the press service of the Red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan.

As reported, treatment of children will be provided by the Gil clinic in the framework of a bilateral agreement with the Red Crescent. Little patients left for Korea on Tuesday, November 13.

“The Gil clinic is represented by Mr. Joe Jong Vaughn in Kyrgyzstan. The purpose of such a campaign is to give Kyrgyzstani children with a congenital heart disease a new life. We have sent four children from Talas, Osh oblasts and the city of Bishkek for treatment. The youngest child with a congenital heart disease is only 2 years old, the eldest is 4 years old,” the organization reported.

All costs associated with the operation and other medical services, transportation and accommodation of children with parents are borne by the Medical Center.

“The Red Crescent of Kyrgyzstan took part in the selection of children in dire need of such an operation. The living conditions of children, financial difficulties and other circumstances that make the heart surgery inaccessible to the family were also taken into account,” the organization added.

It is noted that during the entire period of the Agreement, namely from 2010 to 2018, 45 children with congenital heart disease from Kyrgyzstan were sent to South Korea for free surgery. The cost of a single heart surgery with all expenses is about 36 thousand dollars.
