BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 30. Cargo transportation by all modes of transport in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 45.902 million tons from January through November 2023, which is 15.1 percent or 6 million tons higher than in the same period of 2022 (39.885 million tons), Trend reports.
According to the Kyrgyz National Statistical Committee, cargo transportation by all modes of transportation increased by 600,000 tons, or 15.4 percent, in November of this year compared to November of the previous year. However, it fell by 9.2 percent from the previous month.
Cargo transportation volumes increased in all regions of the country. The most freight was moved by road - 37.122 million tons - followed by railway transit (8.476 million tons).
From January through November of this year, the overall volume of freight turnover in Kyrgyzstan was 2.632 billion tonne-kilometers. The figure climbed by 207 million tonne-kilometers, or 8.6 percent, as compared to the same period in 2022.
In November of this year, the volume of cargo turnover increased by 39.7 million tons, or 14.8 percent, compared to September of the previous year and by 11 percent compared to the previous month.
