Tajik, Pakistan relations growing: Zubaydov

Tajik ambassador to Pakistan Zubaydullo N. Zubaydov on Thursday underlined that he was satisfied with the judicial investigations on Kharotabad tragedy adding "Tajikistan is well aware of the internal matters and problems of Pakistan.", Pakistan observer reported.

Ambassador Zubaydullo N. Zubaydov told media persons "Tajikistan places particular emphasis on boosting relationship with friendly countries in South and South East Asia, especially with brotherly country of Pakistan with whom our nation shares cultural, religious, historic and traditional affinities. He said, Tajikistan achieved progress over the last two decades in the social sphere, economy, industry, agriculture and in various aspects of home and foreign policy. The country enjoys peace, stability and national unity. Hundreds of new facilities - housing, schools, hospitals, libraries and factories have been built in the country, he said.

Based on the construction of small and medium-sized hydropower stations, as well as high voltage power transmission lines, real opportunities for electricity export in the winter season have been created. New bridges were built and the pace of modernization and construction of roads in the direction of China, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan has been expedited. Visible progress was made in construction of modern hotels. Structure of public administration was reformed. The sustainable socio-economic development has been ensured, which is based on the formation of modern competitive market economy, he emphasized.

The foundation stone laying ceremony of the complex of new Embassy of Pakistan in Dushanbe was held with the participation of the Presidents of Tajikistan and Pakistan recently."Tajikistan highly values Pakistan's efforts against international terrorism", the ambassador said.Tajik ambassador said that Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy close cordial ties and major efforts have been focused on deepening and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of hydropower, investment, medicine, education, transport and communications, trade, tourism and combating international terrorism, as well as an implementation of bilateral agreements.

He said his country would enhance cooperation with Pakistan in defence sector also.

Ambassador Zubaydullo N. Zubaydov hosts a reception at a local hotel this evening to celebrate national day of Tajikistan.
