BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. Imports of electrical machinery and equipment by Tajikistan from Türkiye from January through March 2023 increased by almost 3 times year-on-year - from $1.6 million to $4.9 million, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Statistical Institute.
As reported by the statistics, Tajikistan purchased from Türkiye electrical machinery and equipment for $1.17 million in January this year, $1.58 million in February, and $2.13 million in March.
Meanwhile, Tajikistan imported from Türkiye electrical machinery and equipment for $25.9 million in 2022, which is 11.5 percent more than in 2021 ($23.2 million).
Meanwhile, according to the official Turkish statistics, trade turnover between Türkiye and Tajikistan amounted to $139.1 million in 1Q2023, which is an increase of 38.2 percent compared to $100.6 million in 1Q2022.
The exports from Tajikistan to Türkiye in the reporting period decreased by 10.6 percent year-on-year – from $45.1 million to $40.3 million.
At the same time, the imports by Tajikistan from Türkiye amounted to $98.7, increasing by 78 percent compared to $55.4 million in 1Q2022.
