Turkmenistan discloses state budget for 2022

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the law on the state budget for 2022, Trend reports via the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the Turkmen state budget for next year exceeds this year’s budget.

The volume of the budget funds next year will amount to over 85.6 billion manat (more than $24 billion at the rate of the Central Bank). In 2021, the country's state budget was at the level of 79.5 million manat (almost $22.7 billion).

According to the 2nd Article of the law, the centralized budget will amount to 77.4 billion manat (nearly $22.2 billion). At the same time, about four percent of these funds (3.1 million manat or $885,100) will be directed to balancing local budgets. Most of the corresponding money (1.5 million manat or $430,000) will be directed to the Dashoguz province.

The amount of local budgets will be nearly 11.3 million manat (over $3 billion). A significant part of the funds (2.3 million manat or $660,000) will be directed to the Lebap province.

The budget envisions spending of over 70 percent of the funds on the development of social sphere, education, healthcare system, culture, social security system.

Wages, pensions, state benefits and scholarships remained to be the protected items of expenditure of the state budget of Turkmenistan.
