Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in the opening ceremony of a new textile complex in the Babadaykhan district of the Ahal region of the country, worth more than $150 million, Trend reports citing the Turkmen media.
The new enterprise is one of the largest enterprises in the textile industry in Turkmenistan. The structure of the new facility includes a spinning, dyeing, sewing and weaving factories. The textile complex is equipped with modern equipment from Switzerland, Japan, Belgium, Italy and Germany. Its annual production capacity is 3,300 tons of high quality yarns, 20 million square meters of various types of fabrics, including 18 million meters of dyed fabrics and 3.5 million ready-made garments.
During the opening ceremony, the head of state noted that with the commissioning of this complex, 1,150 new jobs will be created, which is of great importance for the employment of the population of nearby regions and improving their living standards.
