BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. The area of cultivated land for agricultural crops in the Ahal region in the south of Turkmenistan has been published, Trend reports with reference to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

The area for growing crops in the region is 362,600 hectares this year.

At the same time, in the Ahal region in 2022, 13,100 hectares were allocated for potatoes, other vegetables - 9,300 hectares, melons - 3,300 hectares, legumes and sesame - 2,500 hectares, corn and annual herbs - 1,600 hectares.

The agricultural sector in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. This is one of the most important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit, and berry crops.
