A facility for production of lighting equipment was commissioned in the Angren special industrial zone in Uzbekistan.
The production is organized by the Uzbek-Korean joint venture EGL-NUR, according to the representative of the Uzeltekhprom Association uniting enterprises of Uzbekistan's electrotechnical industry.
The joint-venture was created by the Korean company EG Lightings Co. Ltd and JSC Novo-Angren TPP. The volume of investments amounted to one million dollars in the joint venture.
Some $510.000 was invested by the EG Lightings Co. Ltd and $ 490.000 -
"Novo-Angren TPP" in the project.
The main range of products will make LED street lights with the capacity of 120 to 175 watts. It is expected that, they will become a full-fledged alternative to the current lighting with the capacity up to 500-600 watts, which does not comply with the rational use of energy resources.
Design capacity of the project is 50,000 units of lighting equipment per year. In the first phase of activity - until the end of this year - the company will produce LED fixtures from components imported from South Korea.
The company plans to localize production in the future. At present time, the agreements have already been reached with a number of local companies to supply components for production.
The company plans development of new products, in particular production of LED lighting devices for cars, residential and office space, and for promotional purposes.
Angren special industrial zone was created on 13 April 2012 in line with the presidential decree in Tashkent region. The zone will function for 30 years with possible extension of the length.
During operation of the special industrial zone, special tax regime and customs preferences will be applied in its territory. Administrative council of SIZ Angren will provide status of participant of the special industrial zone.
