BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. As part of the Agreement on Preferential Trade signed between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, customs duties on the import of a range of goods from Uzbekistan have been abolished, Trend reports.
Following the document prepared by the Turkish Ministry of Trade based on the President's decree, tariff quotas will be applied for the import of certain goods from the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Consequently, within the framework of the Agreement on Preferential Trade signed between Türkiye and Uzbekistan, tariff quotas applied to the import of various goods from Uzbekistan have been regulated.
In particular, the document provides for the elimination of duties on Uzbek products such as onions, shallots, chickpeas, and plums. Under the discussed tariff quotas, customs duties on these goods will be reduced to zero.
The decision and directive will come into effect on July 1, 2023.
