TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 2. Uzbekistan's consumer price index (CPI) for goods amounted to 0.6 percent in January 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this indicator amounted to 8.5 percent in annual terms, with an average monthly increase of 0.7 percent.
Short-term CPI for services totaled 0.90 percent in January 2024. It reached 8.9 percent by January 2022, with an average monthly increase of 0.7 percent.
The short-term CPI for food products in the first month of 2024 reached 0.7 percent. Non-food products accounted for 0.4 percent, and paid services to the population accounted for 0.9 percent.
CPI for food products in annual terms was recorded at 9.30 percent, non-food products at 7.50 percent, and paid services at 8.90 percent, with an average monthly increase of 0.7 percent, 0.6 percent, and 0.7 percent, respectively, in January 2024.
Excluding changes in prices for fruit and vegetable products, the short-term composite CPI totaled 0.40 percent in January 2024 (against 0.6 percent taking into account these changes).
This indicator was fixed at 8.0 percent at the level of January 2023.
Earlier, Uzbekistan recorded an inflation rate of 1.2 percent in December 2023. The data from the Statistical Agency of Uzbekistan shows that the composite consumer price index (CPI) amounted to 8.8 percent in annual terms.
