An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted southern Iran at 2012-01-5 16:53 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, Xinhua reported.
The epicenter, with a depth of 32.50 km, was initially determined to be at 27.86 degrees north latitude and 52.08 degrees east longitude.
