From 2015 to Dec. 21, 2018, the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has fulfilled more than 95 percent of its commitments regarding the Ministry of Education, said Mohammad Hossein Hosseini, NIGC finance director, Trend reports via IRIB.

He said that according to the law, NIGC pays 20 percent of the earned income for renewal of heating systems and equipment of Iranian secondary schools. During this period, 11.64 trillion rials (about $277 million) were paid, he noted.

This is while unpaid 5 percent mainly accounts for the debts of the company’s subscribers, he said. This debt usually exists every year and is delayed for the next year, he noted. If this amount is paid, it will be immediately transferred to the Ministry of Education, he said.

Since the beginning of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), 2.12 trillion rials (about $50 million) have been paid to the Ministry of Education, he added.
