Iranian gas company briefs on supply details

Some 98 percent of the cities of Iran alongside with 76 percent of the villages of the country have been provided with natural gas.

The head of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hamidreza Araqi, has said that his company transports about 800 million cubic meters of gas to various parts of the country on a daily basis, Iran’s state-run IRINN TV reported.

Speaking about the severe cold in the country over this winter he said that no gas outage was registered and the country continued non-stop exports of gas to the abroad.

The country produces over 800 mcm/d of gas, most of which come from South Pars, a large offshore gas field in the Persian Gulf shared by Iran and Qatar.

The volume of Iran’s gas output from the joint field of South Pars has already reached 555 million cubic meters per day.
