The c on Wednesday at an extraordinary meeting declared vote of confidence to new Georgian parliament with 102 votes "for" and seven "against".

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili asked to declare a vote of confidence to the new composition of the government, which candidate for prime minister Vano Merabishvili introduced.

Former Defense Minister, Bacho Akhalaia has been appointed as Interior Minister, former Education and Science Minister Dmitry Shashkin has been appointed as Defense Minister, Khatiya Dekanoidze has been appointed as Education and Science Minister, while Dali Khomeriki has been appointed as Minister of IDPs and Resettlement.

The other ministers retained their posts. These are: Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Vera Kobalia, Agriculture Minister Zaza Gorozia, Finance Minister Dmitry Gvindadze, Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alexander Khetaguri, Minister of Corrections, Probation and Legal Assistance Khatuna Kalmakhelidze, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Environment Minister Goga Khachidze, Labour, Health and Social Protection Minister Zurab Chiaberashvili, Culture Minister Nika Rurua and Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Lado Vardzelashvili.

State minister for European Integration Giorgi Baramidze, for integration - Eka Tkeshelashvili and for the diaspora - Papuna Davitaia also retained the posts.

New State Minister for Employment Paata Trapaidze appeared in the government.

Merbaivshili said during the hearings that the government's program focuses on three main objectives: addressing the issue of unemployment, development of agriculture and health, and increase of pensions.

Opposition factions didn't support the new government.
