The Georgian Prosecutor's Office has dropped the fourth and last charge against former Defence Minister Irakli Okruashvili for negligence.

The Georgian Prosecutor's Office has dropped the fourth and last charge against former Defence Minister Irakli Okruashvili for negligence. The Prosecutor's Office appealed to the judge with a relevant request at the trial on Thursday.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, during the hearing of the case, illegal action by Okruashvili was not confirmed.

Witnesses stated that during Okruashvili's time in office, of 63 million ball cartridges, 500,000 were of poor quality. A relevant document was drawn up, and the ministry did not pay their cost.

As noted by the Prosecutor's Office, during the trial, it was confirmed that three batches of ball cartridges were delivered to Georgia and a part of the third batch was of poor quality. However David Kezerashvili, not Okruashvili was Defence Minister during this period.

The court acquitted Okruashvili.

As Okruashvili said after the trial, he may return to politics.
