Businessman Tamaz Nijaradze's car has exploded in Tbilisi. The explosion took place on Wednesday at dawn in the courtyard of Nijaradze's house on Marabda street in Tbilisi, First Channel of Georgia reported.
According to the businessman's lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze his client has been long been the recipient of threats.
"He has been threatened by the former Defense Minister of Georgia David Kezerashvili to which the businessman has property claims," Khachapuridze said.
According to the lawyer, a few days ago Kezerashvili told Tamaz Nijaradze to "calm down", noting that otherwise he will have problems. After that, the businessman hired guards to protect his son studying in England.
Criminalists are working at the scene. Details are being ascertained.
