The Prime Minister of Georgia will not take part in the Security Council meeting to be held by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on Wednesday at 16:00 at the presidential palace in Tbilisi.
As the Prime Minister told reporters during the Congress of Social-Democrats, he was informed of the upcoming meeting only yesterday at 19:00.
"Nothing significant has happened in the last few days that would require that the National Security Service hold a meeting. I have a lot of meetings scheduled for that day and do not intend to cancel them for the SNB meeting," he said.
Alongside, the Prime Minister noted that the meeting will be attended by the Speaker of Parliament, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Finance. Heads of Defense and Foreign Affairs Ministers are not currently in Georgia, and, accordingly, they will not be able to attend the meeting.
