Export of Georgian honey declines

This year Georgia exported 3.7 tons of natural honey, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

According to Geostat, the country received $13,400 from the export of honey under the 0409 trademark.

Statistics show that compared to last year, the export of honey from Georgia has decreased by half. Last year, 6.4 tons were sold abroad from Georgia to the amount of $56,200.

The highest export of honey over the past 5 years was recorded in 2018, when the country sold 21 tons of honey, earning $69,500 on this.

Honey is exported from Georgia by air, road and sea transport.
