Georgia's exports to China over the first 10 months of 2021 amounted to $520.5 million, which is an increase of 23.9 percent, compared to $419.8 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
However, China’s share in the total Georgian exports decreased by 0.2 percentage points and accounted for 15.3 percent over the first 10 months of 2021, compared to 15.5 percent over the same period of 2020.
TOP-5 Georgia's commodities exported to China (Jan. through Oct. 2021):
- Copper ores and concentrates – $426.2 million (an increase of 20 percent, compared to $355.1 million over the same period of 2020);
- Precious metals and concentrates – $36.2 million (an increase of 22.2 percent, compared to $29.6 million over the same period of 2020);
- Instruments and devices used in medicine – $16.9 million (an increase of 131.5 percent, compared to $7.3 million over the same period of 2020);
- Wine – $11.9 million (an increase of 7.4 percent, compared to $10.8 million over the same period of 2020);
- Raw aluminum – $7.9 million (an increase of 132.3 percent, compared to $3.4 million over the same period of 2020).
Thus, China remained one of the TOP-3 of Georgian trade turnover partners in the reporting period of 2021, alongside Turkey ($1.6 billion) and Russia ($1.29 billion).
